To foster the professional development of romance writers, to promote communication throughout the literary community, and to help create an environment in which romance can be appreciated by the widest possible public.

The Long Island Romance Writers turned 25 in 2021!

Find out where we've been and where we're going.

Our membership spans a wide breadth of skill and experience, from prolific, multi-published, best-selling authors to those just striking out, from traditionally published to independently. Our members write in all genres of romance: contemporary, sweet, erotic, historical, paranormal, and women's fiction.

Workshop Calendar

LIRW hosts monthly programs on the craft, business, and inspiration of writing. Workshops are free to members. Non-members are welcome to join for a fee.
